On October 15, 2017 at about 5:30pm, Rochester Police responded to Amazon Park (105 Whitehouse Road) for a report of possible animal cruelty to a dog.
Police arrived and spoke to witnesses as well as the dog’s owner. After this initial investigation—which included the officers having contact with the dog—Rochester Police seized the dog this night, and brought her to Rochester Veterinary Clinic.
Once the investigation was concluded, it was learned the owner had negligently mistreated his dog by delivering two electrical shocks by means of a stun gun. Also on the evening of October 15th, a neighbor (33 year old male) had confronted the owner in which the dog owner placed the stun gun on the neighbor’s chest (no shock).
On October 20th, Rochester Police issued arrest warrants for Gage R. White, 22 years old, of 105 Whitehouse Road, lot 36, Rochester.
On October 23rd, Mr. White turned himself into the Rochester Police Department. Mr. White was charged with two counts of Cruelty to Animals and one count Simple Assault (all B Misdemeanors). During this time Mr. White voluntarily surrendered his dog over to the Rochester Police Department. The ACO will be transporting the dog, a female named Cario (possibly a Mastiff cross), from Rochester Veterinary Clinic to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society later this week. Cario does not appear to have any physical injuries.
Mr. White was released on $1,500 PR bail, and issued an arraignment date of November 27th at 8am at Rochester 7th Circuit District Court.
