On the evening of May 14, 2018 at approximately 8:49 PM, the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Frisbie EMS responded to the intersection of Milton Road and the Lilac Mall entrance when two on-duty detectives came across a motor vehicle collision that had just occurred. The investigation revealed that Kari Wood, age 38 of Rochester, was operating her 2003 Chevrolet S-10 and was making a left turn onto Wakefield St. from the mall when Barry Brown, age 58 of Milton, entered the intersection in his 2009 Subaru Forester traveling northbound. Brown’s vehicle struck Wood’s vehicle at the front, causing it to spin in a clockwise manner. Her juvenile passenger was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital as a precaution. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Wood was issued a summons for a traffic light violation. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
