On behalf of Chief Paul Toussaint, the Rochester Police Department releases the following:
On 9/17/18 at approximately 7:14PM Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of Washington St at the intersection of Roy St. for a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that Donald Emerson, (age 79 of Rochester, NH) was operating a Maroon Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Washington St. Emerson initiated a left turn onto Roy St. where his car struck Paul Durant, (age 82 of Rochester, NH) who was crossing the crosswalk. Durant was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Emerson was summonsed at the scene for Failure to Yield to a pedestrian, a violation level offense.
