On February 15, 2019 at approximately 12:58 A.M. Rochester Police, Fire and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of Rochester Hill Road and Tebbetts Road for a report of a motor vehicle rollover. Rochester Police, Rochester Fire and Frisbie EMS arrived on scene where they found a 2012 Ford Focus on its roof. The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Andrew Hatfield 29, of Rochester, New Hampshire, was out of the vehicle when responders arrived.
Investigation revealed that Hatfield was travelling East on Rochester Hill Road, at what appeared to be a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle then struck a sign for Grace Community Church before striking two rocks causing the vehicle to go airborne. Hatfield’s vehicle travelled approximately twenty to thirty feet through the air before landing on the lawn of Grace Community Church, where it continued until it reached its final rest position.
Hatfield was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. Officers then responded to Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Hatfield was arrested and charged with New Hampshire RSA 265:60 Speed-Basic Rule and Maximum Limits and New Hampshire RSA 265-A:2 Driving Under the Influence. Hatfield was bailed and released on Personal Recognizance and will be arraigned in the 7th Circuit Rochester District Division Court on February 25, 2019 at 8:15 A.M.
