On Thursday April 4, 2019, between the hours of 10:00 pm and midnight, Rochester Police and Fire responded to several calls for service throughout the City regarding several fireworks complaints and fires. It was reported people in what was described as a darker colored Jeep were driving around the City setting off what was described as both fireworks and “small bombs”, several of which caused small fires on both City and private property of businesses and residences.
Among the areas where fires resulted were the area of Chestnut Hill Rd/Little Falls Bridge Rd, several in the area of Hussey St, Dewey St and the Holy Rosary Church on North Main St. Gonic Rd (Route 125) in the area of the Rochester Country Club and as well as Flagg Rd also experienced fires. It is then believed the vehicle cut through a residential property on Blackwater Rd to access Route 16 and left the area.
Both Dover Police and NH State Police assisted, however the vehicle and people of interest were not located.
