Rochester – On May 24, 2019 at 11:37am, Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to Gonic Road at Church Street for a reported collision between a car and motorcycle. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Michael J. Ury, 57 years old of Epping, NH, was pulling out of Church Street to head south on Gonic Road when he collided with a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Christian T. Swan, 40 years old of Buxton, Maine, who was traveling north on Gonic Road. Ury nor his passenger in the car, Allison Kelley 54 years old of Epping, NH were injured. Swan was transported by Frisbie EMS to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Swan’s passenger on the motorcycle, Chelsea M. Richards, 30 years old of Portsmouth, NH, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital by a second Frisbie EMS ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Swan and Richards were not wearing helmets.
Ury was issued a citation on-scene for Failure to Yield to on-coming traffic.
Gonic Road was closed for just under an hour during the investigation. Rochester Police were assisted by the Strafford County Sheriff’s department with traffic control. Both the car and motorcycle were towed from the scene. The case remains under investigation.
