Rochester – On October 6, 2019 at 9:21 pm, Rochester Police responded to 47 Partridge Green Apartments off of Old Dover Road to check on the welfare of an adult male due to concerning statements he made to friends. Upon arrival the officers spoke to this male at his apartment doorway, but officers did not have him in sight. Talk back and forth took place, but the male refused to cooperate or come to the door–moments later the officers heard the male racking the slide to a gun. The officers left the doorway, and established a perimeter. The Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit (SCRTOU) as well as the Seacoast Emergency Response Team (SERT) responded to the scene. Approximately 15 apartments were evacuated for their safety due to knowledge of this male subject being armed with guns. Negotiators spoke to this male on the phone for a long period of time, and at 1:26 am he surrendered, and was taken into custody without force or anyone being injured.
Patrick Thornton, 27 years old of 47 Partridge Green was charged with Criminal Threatening (B Felony). Thornton was held without bail, and will be arraigned on October 7, 2019 at Strafford Superior Court.
