Unite Francaise, a French club based in Rochester, NH, teamed up with Rochester Police to lend a helping hand to a local family in an effort to help 3 year old Skye Plaisted and her family beat cancer. Skye was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April 2019.
After reading about Cops for Kids with Cancer teaming up with Rochester Police to help the Plaisted family, Unite Francaise wanted to team up with Police to help as well. Club members and Police met with the Plaisted family at the Revolution Taproom and Grill in Rochester where they presented the Plaisted family with a donation to help them during the holiday season.
In addition to partnering with local charities to help children in need, the goals of the club are to help those interested in the French language to have a place where they can speak French as well as practice and improve their French. The club also has a scholarship program for those students who are studying French and plan to continue their education. They have an annual concours in which students compete with their French presentations.
Unite Francaise club members include, Janice D’Entermont – President, Lynn Miller – Vice President, Jeanne Trepanier – Secretary, and Marlene Brooks – Treasurer.
