On Monday January 27, 2020, around 10:40 am, Rochester Police, Fire and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of Whitehouse Road near Country Ridge Estates, for the report of a single vehicle accident where it was reported there was a car into a utility pole.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find a single vehicle, with a single occupant, into a utility pole. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage, the utility pole was broken and there were wires on the ground.
That area of Whitehouse Rd was shut down while emergency personnel extricated the driver and utility crews tended to the damaged pole and downed wires.
The vehicle, a gold colored 2009 Ford Taurus, was traveling west on Whitehouse Rd, toward Old Dover Rd, when the driver, Austin Silver, age 23, of Rochester, lost control of the vehicle and struck the utility pole. Silver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital to be treated. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, however neither speed nor impairment appear to be a factor.
